Steampunk: This Year's Hottest Halloween Theme

A couple of days ago, a woman and her husband came into the store looking for a boot to wear with her Halloween costume. The theme? Steampunk! The husband showed me pictures of their costumes on his phone, and I was amazed. This couple goes ALL OUT and they just happened to walk into our store which has several styles that fit the steampunk look perfectly.

For those of you who have NO CLUE what steampunk is, it’s a sub-genre of science fiction and fantasy, frozen in Victorian-era Britian that incorporates fashion, design, and culture. Steampunk is featured in some films such as Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Sleepy Hollow, Wild Wild West and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. In these films the anachronistic science fiction prevails and the fantasy is addictive.

As you can see, steampunk fashion is like a mix between Victorian fashion and mechanics:

So, wondering what shoes we have available for Steampunk costumes? Check them out below:

Neosen’s Rococo S795 is the most authentically Victorian shoe I’ve seen in my entire life. The romantic design of the shoe is true to that era. As elegant and ornate as the Late Baroque period, the vintage-inspired Rococo S795 from Neosens is truly a work of art!

Another great steampunk pick is Eric Michael’s Juno boot (only size 36 left in stock!). In fact, a girl once ran into the store and grabbed the boot while yelling, “LOOK AT THIS STEAMPUNK BOOT!!” to her boyfriend.

And lastly, the one that our customer bought, the Khrio 21006 boot that arrived last week. This boot’s complex color and wrap around lace gives the boot a look that makes me believe its wearer is on the go. The almond shaped toe is feminine and looks fabulous peeking through a to-the-floor skirt or dress. Not only does this shoe fit the steampunk bill, it also will look great after Halloween with skinny jeans, or tights and a dress.

For those of you who won’t be going steampunk this Halloween, we have plenty of other styles that will work perfectly with your witch costume, your pin-up girl outfit, pirate getup, and any many more. Have a look! It’ll be October 31st before you know it!
